Greening the High Street Grant

Community groups and organisations can apply for up to £4,000 for new planting schemes for their high street or local shopping area.

Adding planting can improve an area’s character and attractiveness which can benefit local residents, visitors and businesses. They also create shelter and habitats for nature and can help improve local air quality.

We are keen to support innovative schemes that respond to our changing climate. Priority will be given to applications in or near to one of our 8 main high streets in South Gloucestershire:

  • Chipping Sodbury
  • Downend
  • Filton
  • Hanham
  • Thornbury
  • Kingswood
  • Staple Hill
  • Yate Station Road

Other shopping areas will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 19 November 2023.

This grant is funded through the UK government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
