Annual General Meeting and Garden Tour at Tyntesfield, Wraxall. BS48 1NX
Free for members and £5 for guests
The venue for the AGM is the historic Sawmill, once the home of the generators that produced DC electricity for Tyntesfield, only the second private house in the country to have electricity installed.
After our short AGM and refreshments, we will be taken on a tour of the gardens by the Head Gardener, Paul Evans. Paul will outline the development and restoration of the gardens and parkland and will lead us through Paradise, as it was named by the Gibbs family, an arboretum with a collection of specimen trees brought from all over the world to grow at Tyntesfield and which should be in their full autumn glory of colour for our visit.
As well as a number of unusual and international trees, Tyntesfield is also home to many Champion Trees due to their height, age, girth or another remarkable quality. Tyntesfield contains over sixty county champions, nine of which are Great Britain and Ireland champions.
Parking:- free for National Trust members but non-National Trust members will need to pay the car park fee of £3. This car parking fee will also enable non-NT members to visit the house and grounds prior to the meeting at no additional cost. Please note that a visit to house must be booked in advance.
