The Grade II listen cast iron bridge that links Blaise Castle estate and Kings Weston has been reinstated.
Damaged in 2015, it was again struck by a vehicle in 2018 causing closure and necessitating major repair. After much consultation and planning requirements- in which Avon Gardens Trust had a healthy input – work commenced late last year.
The bridge has been raised 1 metre in height and steps instigated to prevent repetition of over-height vehicle in the area.
It is hoped the work will be completed to open in July 2024.
